Application of SAR Interferometry to Monitor Crustal Deformation
Picture of SAR EDU

Unit Description

This lesson introduces you to the application of SAR interferometry and advanced InSAR time-series methods (Persistent scatterer – PS, Small BAseline Subset – SBAS) to understand deformation processes associated with geohazards such as earthquakes, volcanoes, withdrawal of crustal fluids and landslides. You learn about analytical geophysical models for interpretation of coseismic, interseismic, postseismic and volcano deformation fields from InSAR measurements. Furthermore, it gives hints to understand the limitations of interferometric measurements in different applications.
