HyperEDU

In view of the rising number of imaging spectrometers deployed on airborne platforms and the launch of space-borne imaging spectroscopy missions, an increasing need for Earth observation education and training activities with a focus on hyperspectral imagery is expected in the next few years.

HYPERedu is an online learning initiative for hyperspectral remote sensing that is developed as part of the EnMAP mission science program.

HYPERedu provides annotated slide collections and tutorials on principles, methods, applications and data sources of imaging spectroscopy at Master’s level, addressing students as well as professionals in research, companies, and public agencies. All materials are provided free of charge. The hyperspectral learning resources will be continuously extended and will be complemented by a MOOC series on hyperspectral remote sensing.

All material is provided free of charge (CC-BY) in English at the master’s level, addressing students as well as professionals in research, companies, and public agencies.

HYPERedu Content structure

HYPERedu is developed as part of the EnMAP mission science program funded within the German Earth observation program by the DLR Space Administration with resources from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

The development of HYPERedu is coordinated by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) Potsdam in cooperation with Jena University, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, LMU Munich and AWI with contributions from the EnMAP Science Team and colleagues.
